Jammu,16th Sept (KNO) :Terming the announcement of the urban local bodies and Panchayat elections a very right decision by the state administration headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik, BJP state spokesperson, former minister and MLA Priya Sethi said that it will help in strengthening the democracy at grass root level in the state and announcement of polls is a befitting reply to those regional parties particularly PDP and NC who have always blackmailed the union government on non -issues and this is befitting reply to separatists ,anti India people, anti development parties ,Pak sponsored terrorists too, who have taken the people of Kashmir to ransom and have again and again exploited them for their vested interests.

"Unfortunate part is this that all the regional political parties including the NC and PDP have always played a negative role in the state, BJP State spokesperson alleged. Sethi further said that "Basically it has become a race of one-upmanship wherein both these political outfits in order to score over each other are ignoring the basic principles of democracy that call for empowering people at grass root level.

By choosing not to be part of democratic process, these political outfits had established that they are not only inimical to peace but also don’t want youth of the state to become a part of democratic process.and want to confine it to their dynasties and a group of their political henchmen. One wonders as to how situation in Jammu and Kashmir stays conducive enough to elect MLAs and MPs but deteriorates when it comes to empowering common people to make them partners in development. Priya Sethi added that "Those who will elected will represent their wards, will work for their community and can give peace a chance too .

Now that Governor Satya Pal Malik has decided to go ahead and dates were announced for Urban Local Body (ULB) and Panchyat polls too, this is for sure that two Municipal Corporations and scores of Town Area Committees besides Municipal Committees will actually be engaging thousands of young leaders in state’s development.

Priya Sethi further said that this decision will go a long way in bringing the misguided youth of Kashmir in the mainstream as local representatives elected in municipal and panchayat elections will play a key role in bridging the gap between administration and common man in the state. She further added that funds emarked for panchyats will now be spent on development works in rural areas which will change the fate of the people in our state.

More jobs will be created, people will be empowered, there will be free flow of funds and massive development will engage more contractors who in turn will employ laborers both skilled and unskilled. The representatives elected by these polls will have complete liaison with people at gross root level and will take the govt schemes to the doorsteps of the people.
